After many changed dates and decor options, the date finally arrived. Johana and Eduardo were married in the John Lloyd State Park in Dania Beach. They had an after hours reception at the Manatee Pavillion in the park. The reception was coordinated and put together by Jessica at Jessica's Events. She was married under a beautiful turquoise and green bamboo canopy with starfish accents. Her bouquet as well as the tiki torches decor were made with white lillies, orchids and blue orchids. Hi Linda,

Thank you for your time just now. As I mentioned I'm currently casting with MTV Tr3s, the Latin American channel of MTV, for the show “Quiero Mi Boda.” We are looking for couples that are from different countries or have different cultural backgrounds and are getting married this year. Think a Latino version of "My Big Fat Greek Wedding." The idea of the series is to take an inside look at cross-cultural weddings and the hustle and bustle surrounding them. Weddings are a special event in the life of a couple; a day where not only two people join in matrimony but also a day when two families unite. Now imagine these two families being from completely different cultural backgrounds; different tastes, traditions, and sometimes even different languages. That is "Quiero Mi Boda," a show that will go behind-the-scenes as these couples tie the knot.

This show is not about Bridezilla's. We do not want to portray our couples in a bad light as over the top out-of-control brides and grooms. We are looking for couples between the ages of 18-30 with diverse backgrounds (at least one should be Hispanic) who are entering into a mixed marriage. Ideally we want couples who have a great story to tell, and have large families who are interesting, involved in the party planning and speak both Spanish and English.

If a couple was chosen to appear in the series, they can expect to shoot approximately 8/9 days leading up to the wedding day and of course the wedding day itself. We try to work with a small crew and we are as respectful as possible about the couple we cast. There is also a stipend awarded to the couples that are chosen.

We are looking for weddings this year. The new season will wrap up filming in October but we will be casting for the next season right after so really any weddings within the next year we’re interested in casting. It would be great if you could reach out to any couples and let them know about the opportunity. Please let me know if you have anyone in mind for the show and feel free to pass on my email or the attached casting flyer to your clients.

Destination Weddings: Who Pays for What?

Many times we are asked what is the proper etiquette when it comes to destination weddings. Most people know when it comes to a traditional wedding, but what about when you get married away from home. Do the same rules still apply? Here is a handy guide, provided courtesy of The Knot, which should help clarify these questions and help with your planning process.

The bride and groom (and/or their parents) are expected to pay for:

The wedding reception (whether it's a five-course meal or a beer-and-burgers bash)

A rehearsal dinner

A welcome party

A morning-after brunch (a friend or family member may volunteer to host this for you as a gift)

We highly recommend the hosts also cover:

Selected activities (a group sailing trip, a tour around town)

Transportation to and from the ceremony and reception sites

A shuttle to pick up your guests at the airport when they arrive

Attendant hotel rooms. According to tradition, the bride and her family should cover lodging for the bridesmaids; the groom or his family should do the same for the groomsmen. If these expenses will burst your budget, tell your attendants their presence is a gift to you. (Keep in mind: If hotel room rates are $400 a night, that may be more of a present than they intended to give!)

Travel expenses for VIPs with no other means to make it to the wedding (think: elderly relatives or the starving-artist bridesmaid)

Guests should expect to pay for:

Their plane ticket to and from the destination

Their hotel room stay

Any meals or beverages that are not part of the wedding festivities

Any non-wedding activities that choose to participate in

Attendants should expect to pay for:

Travel to and from the destination

On Friday October 9th, 2009 John and Tricia were joined in marriage in front of family and friends. They chose a stunning arch with orange roses and lillies. The lighthouse made a stunning backdrop. No matter how many times I go to the park, I'm always in awe of the beauty of the lighthouse, as well as the natural beauty of the park. This is one of the few beaches in Miami-Dade County that is still in it's natural state and undisturbed by over-development. John and Tricia had a lovely sunset wedding ceremony. Planning a Destination Wedding from the UK

Since we have so many couples that come to us from the UK, I'm adding this article which should be very helpful.

Planning a destination wedding

Florida is one of the world`s most famous and popular holiday destinations. Renowned for hour after hour of unbroken sunshine, sizzling summer temperatures, miles of golden sands and superb entertainment venues including Disney World, Florida continues to attract literally millions of tourists each year. For many of these reasons, Florida is also a popular location for the so-called destination weddings, which simply refers to weddings between foreign nationals that take place abroad. Thus, for example, a couple from the United Kingdom could organise a destination holiday in Florida.

Destination holidays are primarily designed to offer something a little more exotic than the run-of-the-mill church or registry office weddings. Furthermore, a more cynical stance on destination holidays is that they not only combine the expense of a honeymoon with the wedding itself but also manage to streamline the number of guests that will likely attend, which can often be a good thing where families are concerned. Nevertheless, planning a destination wedding in a location such as Florida requires a little work beforehand.

Naturally, there are some legal points to consider. First, it is not possible to register a marriage abroad with the relevant authority in the UK, which happens to be the General Register Office (GRO), unless it involves a serving member of the British Armed Forces. Assuming a traditional civilian wedding, a couple getting married abroad, of which at least one is a British national, can apply to record the wedding with the GRO. This will involve sending the marriage certificate to the GRO, who have a fairly extensive list of countries from which the notifications are accepted. As could be expected, the USA is one such country.

A further legal requirement of getting married abroad is that the couple complies with the relevant laws of the destination country. In Florida, there are a number of laws to consider but the most crucial points to answer are what, how and when? In this respect, a marriage licence must be applied for well in advance of the proposed wedding date and, once issued, is valid for a maximum of sixty days. Costing around $100 or less, an additional fee can be paid to have the licence posted to the recipients. Marriage licences in Florida can be issued to non-residents of the state, although passports will be required to complete the application. Whilst these rules are generally accurate, certain legal requirements may differ between counties in Florida, so always check with the relevant authority to make sure.

The tedious legal work should never cast a shadow over wedding preparations, however (unless they preclude the possibility of a destination wedding!). Indeed, financial considerations are typically far more stressful and deserve greater attention. A summary of the basic steps that are required of a destination wedding includes choosing the location and venue, setting a date, applying for the marriage licence, booking the venue and services of a wedding officiant, purchasing travel tickets, arranging the ceremony, hiring a wedding planner and then choosing where exactly to spend the honeymoon. As previously mentioned, Florida is a fantastic holiday resort anyway so the honeymoon ought not to provide too many headaches.

The total cost of a destination holiday in Florida will vary considerably, although it would be sensible to reserve an additional £5,000 on top of what would ordinarily be spent on a wedding in the UK. The strength of the pound against the dollar will provide some financial respite, although it would be sensible to shop around for cheap flights to Miami, which is one of the key destinations in Florida.

It was a beautiful wedding for Darren and Natalie who came all the way from England to have their Miami Beach Wedding. The color scheme was definitely pink! Natalie carried a lovely bouquet of pink lilies and roses, and purple orchids, the groom wore an orchid boutonniere. They were joined by family and friends for this joyous event. Even some of the beach goers joined in on the pictures! After the ceremony they returned to the elegant Marriott South Beach for some drinks and then off to Smith and Wollensky for dinner. Congratulation Darren and Natalie!

Man and woman with same name met through Facebook, getting married

It's been a whirlwind romance for the guy and gal who share the same name, and it all started with an innocent Facebook message.

"She started off 'Hey, I saw we have the same name,and I thought it was kind of cool, Just wanted to say hi I guess. LOL,'" the male Kelly said.

Kelly the female, from Coral Springs, was curious to see profiles of people with the same name when she happened across Kelly the male in Lubbock, Texas.

"I searched my own name and he's the only one who came up and actually in the picture he didn't have a shirt on and I was like oh he's cute," said the female Kelly.

Three weeks later, male Kelly flew to South Florida to meet female Kelly, and they hit it off immediately.

And now in just three months, the Hildebrandts will officially be married.

"We get a couple of the same reactions, usually it's like 'whoa, that's so awesome and totally different,'" said female Kelly, 20.

Male Kelly, 24, has moved down to Florida and plans on working at the new branch for his company, Primerica Financial. Female Kelly is finishing up her studies at Palm Beach Community College.

The wedding will be at Lighthouse Point Yacht Club in October, a quick turnaround -- just eight months after the two first met -- though male Kelly has no reservations.

"I felt like there was a good possibility that before I ever came out to meet her in person, that this could be the girl I'm gonna marry," he said.

The marriage won't be without problems. In fact, one problem has already presented itself before the two have even stepped foot on the altar.

"He's even already got some mail coming in, and we have to open everything, because we don't know whose mail is whose," said female Kelly.

Real Wedding: Kristin & Micah's South Beach Wedding

They came from Louisiana with some family to get married on the beautiful shore next to South Point Park. She carried a lovely bouquet of hot pink and white roses. After the ceremony they shared a champagne toast and then were off to their Caribbean cruise. Congratulations Kristin and Micah!

Real Wedding: Red, White and Something Blue, 4th of July Weddings!

Fireworks, celebrations and love was the theme of the day. We had a very busy 4th of July at Forever in Love with 3 weddings on that day!

It started with the wedding of Liza and Paul. Liza and I had spoken so many times on the phone leading up to her destination wedding that when we finally met, I felt like I was meeting an old friend. Liza and Paul came from St. Thomas to be married at the Fontainebleu in Miami Beach. Her color theme was "Ivory with a touch of blue" . She carried a lovely bouquet of ivory roses and blue flowers with stephanotis. The ceremony was held at the Splash Ballroom with a great ocean view. It was followed by a delicious lunch reception hosted by the Fountainbleu.

We then had the wedding of Eileen and Johnny in Ft. Lauderdale beach. We had a tough time finding a spot because everyone was on the beach awaiting the fireworks show! Luckily we went to one of our lesser known locations in Ft. Lauderdale and we found a quiet area for them to get married. They came from New York and were joined by some friends, it was a wonderful wedding.

Our final wedding was for Jeanne and Kenneth, they opted to elope and had a lovely ceremony on the balcony of their suite in a private condo.

Congratulations to all our couples and Happy 4th of July, you'll be celebrating your anniversary with fireworks every year!

Real Wedding: Katherine and Dustin's Ft. Lauderdale Beach Wedding

More than a year of planning for this wedding and the day finally arrived! The bride was lovely, as were her bridesmaids. The flowers for this wedding were stunning blue orchids with white roses, stephanotis and lilies. The couple and their family came to the beautiful Ft. Lauderdale Beach for their destination wedding. Although the rain was threatening from all directions, we were able to perform their ceremony before it started to pour! Real Wedding: The Wedding of Justin and Lina

What happens if it rains? We hear this question so often and fortunately we have been blessed that rarely have we had to move a wedding indoors. On May 30th, it was one of those days. The weather had been really unstable for a good two weeks leading up to Justin and Lina's beach wedding, so the bride and groom make the correct decision (boy did it rain on their day) to go ahead with their backup plan. The result was a beautiful wedding under a white tent with 70 guests in attendance. It was held at the Wind Condo in downtown Miami. The bride was stunning and the guests were able to dodge the rain. The sky did clear up after the ceremony and the couple was able to take some great photos with the Miami skyline as a backdrop. A lively reception followed. Congratulations to Lina and Justin, may you enjoy many years of happiness, rain or shine....

Two Weddings in a Day!

Today I married Wyatt and Ashley, a lovely couple from the Orlando area. They had an early morning wedding on beautiful Hollywood beach. After sooo many days of rain, the weather decided to be our friend and gave us a stunning day. This same afternoon I married Brandon and Stephanie. They came with their family and friends from Philadelphia to Miami Beach to be married. Once again the weather cooperated and we had a great wedding! The bride and her lovely bridesmaids walked in to "1, 2, 3, 4" by the Plain White T's. Lots of tears and lots of pictures and the happy couple were off to dinner with their family and friends. Congratulation to both couples! Now I'm going to bed, I'm exhausted!!

Real Wedding: Lighthouses and Love

I have to admit, sometimes the best things are right in front of us and we don't see them. Take the Bill Baggs state park in Key Biscayne. Growing up in South Florida, for years I took this place for granted. Yes, it's a lighthouse and it has all the mystery and charm that a lighthouse has. Yet it was never a big deal for me, just another beach in the endless choice of beaches we are blessed with in South Florida. That was until I started performing weddings there and I re-discovered this great treasure and the endless ways of photographing, viewing and just admiring it. Which brings me to the story of my latest couple, Judi and Ron. They came looking for a lighthouse and found the "perfect" lighthouse. You see, Judi and Ron love lighthouses and for their own special reasons both have a tattoo on their arms of a lighthouse. When Ron walked on to the beach he was shocked. The lighthouse depicted in his tattoo was identical to the lighthouse at the Bill Baggs State Park where they were married this weekend. This couple came from Clearwater and had never been to the park, the man who designed his tattoo had never seen this lighthouse either! Call is coincidence or destiny. Either way they got their perfect lighthouse and perfect wedding ceremony. Congratulations Ron and Judi!

I first spoke to Ashley back in November 2008 when she stared planning her cruise and wedding here in South Florida. After all those months of planning, she got the most beautiful day and a perfect beach wedding! Ashley looked beautiful as her groom, Garland looked on. Her mom was there to witness the event and capture it on video! Tears rolled as the couple exchanged vows. They were married at the very peaceful and beautiful Crandon Park Beach, surrounded by palm trees and ocean breezes. Ah, weddings, how I love them. I started this business as a wedding officiant and I quickly discovered how much I was addicted to weddings. I know, some people think of wedding and "stress" comes to mind, but not me, I think love (yes as corny as that sounds) I think new life, new beginnings, joy happiness, peace. Who wouldn't love a business that made you feel all those things? I quickly combined it with my second love, the beach and a match made in tropical heaven was born. Now hundreds weddings later, my love for this business is still strong and I still treat each wedding as if it were my own.
